This event, announced by President Isabel Díaz Ayuso from New York, promises to be a highlight in Madrid's cultural calendar.
July 4th is not only an emblematic date for Americans, but this year it coincides with the central event of Pride 2026, which anticipates a large influx of people in the streets of Madrid. The president has emphasised the importance of cultural blending and stated: "Because we know the significance that July 4th holds for an American. And Madrid wants to remind everyone that they are at home here."
Aside from the main tribute, the Community is also organising various cultural activities throughout the year. With the U.S. as the guest country at Hispanidad 2026, events celebrating both jazz and flamenco are being prepared in schools and public spaces across the region. This reflects a continued commitment from the regional government to foster cultural relations between Spain and the United States.
Díaz Ayuso has emphasised that Madrid awaits Americans "with open arms," highlighting the desire to continue building bridges between both nations. In her words: "We sow, we invest time and affection to keep growing together."
