This weekend, Madrid becomes the epicentre of art and culture with a series of events that promise to delight art lovers. From vibrant concerts to theatrical premieres, the city offers an impressive variety for all tastes.
La Casa Encendida hosts the twenty-sixth edition of the Generación 2026 programme, driven by the Montemadrid Foundation. This year, six young artists present their innovative works exploring themes such as the body, time, and voice. Among the proposals, Maya Pita-Romero stands out, having created a welcoming space using familiar fabrics, while Hodei Herreros Rodríguez reflects on femininity through his installation The Voiceless Voice of the Girls.
At the Centro Danza Matadero, sORDA, an autobiographical work created by Jone San Martin Astigarraga, will premiere. This performance addresses her experience with deafness and seeks to explore how sound and silence can coexist in the same space. The choreography invites the audience to experience a new way of listening, where each movement is a dialogue between the visible and the invisible.
Don’t miss the concert by the Burgos duo Fetén Fetén, who will perform this Sunday at the Teatro Circo Price. Starting February 5, Sala Cuarta Pared presents Lo que sueña un perro, an anti-war fable written by Marina Seresesky. The play follows three characters caught in an imminent conflict as they explore their desires and fears. The meeting with the audience after the performance on the 6th will offer a unique opportunity to delve into the themes addressed.
Under the slogan The culture that goes with you, the 21 Distritos programme returns, offering over 200 free cultural activities throughout the year. This Saturday, don’t miss the performance by Clara Peya, who will present her sound project Solilòquia, inviting reflection on contemporary solitude.
Finally, the wind soloists of the Vienna Philharmonic will give a concert this Friday in Madrid as part of the Vienna in Madrid cycle. They will perform masterpieces by Mozart and Beethoven alongside more contemporary compositions, providing the audience with a rich and varied musical experience.
