A journey through the essence of David Delfín
The Spanish capital is preparing for an event that promises to be a visual and emotional feast: the exhibition David Delfín. In transit, which will take place at the Madrid Museum of Costume from March 12 to 22. This display not only celebrates the work of the iconic designer, who passed away in 2017, but also invites attendees to immerse themselves in his creative and transgressive universe.
Organised in collaboration with the Fundació Antoni de Montpalau, the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME), and the Patio Herreriano Museum of Valladolid, this exhibition brings together ten emblematic outfits, two of which are part of the museum's own collection. The selection spans from his beginnings to the most representative pieces that marked his career, thus offering a comprehensive view of his trajectory and his impact on contemporary Spanish fashion.
Accompanying the exhibition, the documentary David Delfín. Show your wound, directed by César Vallejo de Castro, Ángela Gallardo Bernal, and Rafael Muñoz Rodríguez, will be screened. This film presents over 80 hours of unpublished material, sourced from both RTVE archives and the designer's family environment. Through this documentary, viewers will be able to explore not only Delfín's exceptional talent but also his vulnerability and the emotional legacy he left in the fashion world.
The exhibition is an integral part of the event OMODA Madrid is Fashion, which will take place from March 12 to 17. This festival features catwalks, performances, exhibitions, and talks with some of the most prominent designers in the sector. With this initiative, Madrid reaffirms its position as an international reference in authorial design.
