A New Chapter in Woody Allen's Filmography
The acclaimed New York director Woody Allen has decided to take his next cinematic project to the streets of Madrid. The Department of Culture has confirmed that filming for his fifty-first film, currently provisionally titled Wasp 2026, will begin on 5 October of this year.
This ambitious project has the support of both the City Council of Madrid and the Community of Madrid, who have formalised a sponsorship contract worth 1.5 million euros. This investment aims not only to support film production but also to boost tourism and enhance the international image of the region.
A key clause of the agreement stipulates that the name of Madrid must appear in the final title of the film, underscoring the importance for local authorities to be an integral part of the project. Filming will take place in various locations within the Community, ensuring that the landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Madrid are showcased to a global audience.
