The expansion of BYD Harmony Auto in Spain takes a significant step with the opening of a new dealership in Las Tablas, Madrid, scheduled between September and October 2026. This centre will not only strengthen the brand's presence in the national market but will also be strategically located next to the company's headquarters and the new Denza centre, its luxury brand.
An ambitious growth in the automotive sector
Since its arrival in Spain two years ago, BYD has established facilities in Carabanchel and Fuenlabrada, positioning itself as one of the six best-selling brands among individuals. So far this year, it has registered approximately 18,000 vehicles, reflecting a growing acceptance by Spanish consumers.
Globally, BYD has bold plans for 2026. The company aims to operate in more than 40 countries before the year ends and establish a commercial network with 2,000 points of sale. This approach is supported by a solid turnover; during the first five months of the year, 1.4 million vehicles have been sold, with nearly 600,000 units outside the Asian continent.
In this expansive context, BYD has introduced its plug-in hybrid model Dolphin G DM-i, designed for the urban B segment. With a competitive starting price of 18,700 euros, this vehicle promises to revolutionise the market thanks to its outstanding technical specifications.
The Dolphin G DM-i offers a combined range of over 1,040 kilometres. In pure electric mode, it can travel up to 105 kilometres, while if used mainly in urban environments, this figure can increase to 150 kilometres. These features make it an attractive option for those seeking sustainable mobility in large cities.
As BYD continues its expansion both locally and internationally, it faces significant challenges within the competitive European automotive sector. However, its innovative approach and commitment to sustainability seem to position it favourably to capture the attention of the modern consumer.
As the opening of the new dealership and the launch of the Dolphin G DM-i draw near, all eyes will be on how these moves will impact the Spanish automotive market and contribute to BYD's ongoing growth in Europe.
