This Saturday, four municipalities in the Community of Madrid will record maximum temperatures of up to 38 degrees. Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, Rivas-Vaciamadrid and Torrejón de Ardoz are the most affected by the heat.

The day on Saturday in the Community of Madrid is expected to be marked by high temperatures, although slightly lower than the previous day. Thermometers will register between 34 and 38 degrees, with Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, Rivas-Vaciamadrid and Torrejón de Ardoz being the municipalities that will experience the highest heat. This heatwave is part of a climatic pattern that has affected the region over the past few weeks, generating concern among citizens and local authorities.

In Madrid city, a minimum of 23 degrees and a maximum that will reach 36 degrees is expected. The sky will be clear in the morning, but some clouds are anticipated in the afternoon. Las Rozas, Majadahonda and Pozuelo will also experience high temperatures, although slightly cooler with minimums around 19 degrees.

Throughout the day, the wind will blow mainly from the west and southwest at speeds that could reach 16 kilometres per hour, especially in Getafe. This weather phenomenon not only affects outdoor activities but also public health; health authorities have issued recommendations to avoid heat strokes.

As summer progresses, such extreme temperatures are not unusual in the region. Compared to previous years, where similar peaks were recorded in August, this year seems to follow a worrying trend towards more frequent and intense heatwaves. For example, in August last year, temperatures above 40 degrees were reported, leading to a significant increase in cases related to thermal issues.

As the sun rises early and sets late —around 21:20 hours— it is crucial for residents to plan their outdoor activities with caution. It is advised to avoid going out during peak sun hours and to stay hydrated.

Despite the extreme heat forecasted for today, many Madrileños choose to enjoy the weekend in parks or open spaces. However, it is essential to remember that these weather conditions can be dangerous if proper precautions are not taken. For those planning to go out today or engage in outdoor activities, it is recommended to carry enough water and seek shade whenever possible.
