A Journey to the Heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama
From May 15 to 17, 2026, Cercedilla will transform into a vibrant cultural centre with the celebration of the III Fair of Trades and Traditions. This event, taking place in the emblematic Plaza de Toros and its surroundings, promises to be a feast for the senses, combining activities that highlight rural life and ancestral customs of the mountainous environment.
The fair is designed to attract visitors of all ages, offering a perfect blend of education and entertainment. Attendees will be able to enjoy live demonstrations including traditional sheep shearing, falconry displays, and livestock exhibitions. These activities are not only spectacular but also provide a deep insight into the daily work in the countryside.
One of the highlights of the event will be the workshops open to the public. These spaces are intended to encourage hands-on learning, allowing participants to directly experience artisanal techniques. From log cutting to other forestry tasks, each workshop will offer a unique opportunity to connect with local traditions.
There will not only be educational activities; the event will also feature a craft and gastronomic market, where products made using traditional methods can be purchased. This market will be a key point for those wishing to take a piece of local flavour home.
Through this third edition, Cercedilla reaffirms its commitment to culture and sustainable tourism. The fair aims not only to entertain but also to educate about practices that are an integral part of the regional cultural heritage. In a natural setting like the Sierra de Guadarrama, this event becomes an enriching experience for both locals and visitors.
