Chromatic: The explosion of colour transforming contemporary ceramics in Madrid

A unique visual experience at Mínima Gallery

Since 17 April, art lovers have an unmissable appointment at Mínima Gallery, where CROMÁTICA, an innovative exhibition by Italian artist Eloisa Gobbo, is being showcased. This exhibition, which will remain open until 22 May, is specifically designed for this space and promises to be a feast for the senses.

The official opening will take place on 16 April at 18:30, marking the start of this third exhibition at the gallery. With a clear focus on contemporary ceramics, Mínima Gallery aims to consolidate its position as a reference point within the Madrid art circuit.

The heart of CROMÁTICA is an impressive mural installation that spans three metres and is composed of over a hundred ceramic pieces. This singular work represents a vertical table for twelve diners, organised around two central points that unfold in a vibrant gradation of sizes and colours. The proposal not only celebrates gathering but also invites reflection on the ephemeral nature of daily rituals.

Through her work, Gobbo establishes a fascinating dialogue between the classical and the contemporary. Visual references to great masters such as Durero, Vesalio, or Goya appear on the ceramic surfaces, creating a bridge between different artistic eras. This approach allows the viewer to appreciate how traditions can be reinterpreted in a modern context.

Eloisa Gobbo is recognised for her bold use of colour and structured compositions. Her training at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera has notably influenced her distinctive style, characterised by layers and grids that generate dense and dynamic surfaces. She currently lives between Padua and Milan, where she also teaches, thus contributing to the development of contemporary art.
