An event that unites generations
On April 11, Madrid will be the epicentre of an unprecedented musical event: the Resurrection Festival. This year, the iconic Plaza de Cibeles will welcome thousands of people to a free show that promises to be unforgettable. Organised by the Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP), the event aims not only to entertain but also to promote community and spiritual values.
The festival lineup reflects musical eclecticism. The day will feature standout performances from the youth phenomenon Hakuna Group Music, which has captured the hearts of young Catholics across the country. Additionally, attendees will enjoy the nostalgic melodies of Boney M., with their iconic original voice, and the vibrant rhythms of the Gipsy Kings. This unique combination promises to attract a diverse audience, from families to young adults.
The doors will open at 17:00 hours, kicking off an afternoon filled with music and joy. The first performance will begin at 18:30 hours, hosted by the charismatic presenter Javi Nieves. The event will run until 21:30 hours, offering several hours to enjoy both established artists and emerging new talents.
Not only will big names be present; there will also be space for new musical proposals. During the event, the song ‘Gólgota’ will be performed by Ángel Catela, who was awarded at the Music and Faith contest. This initiative aims to give visibility to compositions inspired by Christian values, thus enriching the cultural offerings of the festival.
Pablo Velasco, national secretary of Communication of the ACdP, has revealed that even the Vatican is aware of the event. With a possible visit from Pope Francis to Spain in mind, Velasco emphasised that they are willing to collaborate with the Church to maximise the positive impact of the festival. This aspect highlights how the Fiesta is not just a concert; it is a spiritual celebration that seeks to unite people under a common purpose.
As this fourth edition approaches, Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza, president of the ACdP, expresses his desire: “We want to fill Cibeles again with people of all ages.” The festival aims not only to be a musical show; it seeks to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel like an active and celebratory part of a vibrant community during this Holy Week in Madrid.
