Malasaña transforms into an open-air museum with the eleventh edition of Pinta Malasaña

A day to celebrate urban art

On Sunday, April 26, the vibrant neighbourhood of Malasaña in Madrid will become a true open-air museum thanks to the eleventh edition of Pinta Malasaña. This event, which offers free access, will allow attendees to enjoy a day full of contemporary art, where the streets will be filled with colour and creativity.

Throughout the day, selected urban artists through an open call will intervene at various points in the neighbourhood, transforming shutters and façades into true masterpieces. The initiative, driven by the local newspaper Somos Malasaña and the Madrid Street Art Project Association, has the collaboration of the Condeduque Cultural Centre and the Centre Board of the Madrid City Council. The goal is clear: to bring urban art closer to the general public, taking it out of traditional galleries and bringing it directly to the streets.

Pinta Malasaña is not just about observing; attendees will also have the opportunity to actively participate. During the event, they will be able to evaluate the artistic interventions and choose their favourite for one of the awards of the competition.
