A Journey to the Past in Móstoles
The municipality of Móstoles, located in the Community of Madrid, is preparing to offer a unique cultural experience that combines history and theatre. On February 28th at 18:30, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a theatrical tour that promises to immerse attendees in the rich historical legacy of this town.
Organised by the Móstoles City Council, this event aims to highlight the importance of local heritage through a route that will not only inform but also entertain. The activity is designed to be accessible to all, as entry is completely free, allowing anyone interested to enjoy this unique experience.
The theatrical route is named ‘Nuestra Señora de los Santos’, and will feature a baroque company specialised in historical representations. During the tour, attendees will witness dramatized scenes that recount legends and significant episodes related to the patron religious figure of the municipality.
Along the itinerary, participants will follow the actors to a hermitage, where they will learn more about the Virgin and the miracles attributed to her. This approach not only provides a religious context but also allows exploration of what daily life was like in Móstoles during the 17th and 18th centuries.
The artistic direction of the event has been entrusted to Producciones Yllana, along with the collaboration of the Móstoles Theatre School. Together they have created a cultural proposal that seeks not only to educate about Móstoles' past but also to offer a festive and immersive moment for all attendees.
This type of activity is essential to revitalise interest in local history and foster a sense of community among its inhabitants. By combining theatrical elements with historical narratives, it is hoped to attract both residents and tourists interested in discovering more about this corner of Madrid.
The tour will begin at the Parque Cuartel Huerta, an emblematic location within the municipality, and will conclude at the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Todos los Santos. This route will not only allow appreciation of historical places often overlooked by those who live or visit Móstoles but will also encourage a greater appreciation for its rich cultural heritage.
