The Pope's Arrival in the Spanish Capital
The long-awaited apostolic visit of Pope Leo XIV to Madrid will take place from June 6 to 8, providing thousands of faithful the opportunity to get close to the Holy Father. The procession will begin around 09:30 from the Instituto Ramiro de Maeztu, traversing streets such as calle Serrano, calle Goya, and plaza de Colón. The mass is scheduled for 10:00, coinciding with the feast of Corpus Christi.
Monday, June 8, will be a culminating day. At 18:00, the Pope will visit the majestic Cathedral of Santa María la Real de la Almudena. His route will include iconic places such as the glorieta de Pirámides and the Royal Palace. Subsequently, after his meeting at the cathedral, Leo XIV will head to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium for a large gathering with members of the Diocese of Madrid.
Throughout the journey in the popemobile to the Bernabéu, it is expected that Leo XIV will pass through historic streets like calle Mayor, Paseo del Prado, and other significant avenues that connect key points of Madrid's historic centre.
