Registrations Open for Papal Events
The Archdiocese of Madrid is finalising the details for the much-anticipated visit of Pope Leo XIV, scheduled from June 6 to 9. In order to facilitate access to the events, an online registration system has been set up through the platform With the Pope, which has launched a second registration period. This initiative aims to ensure that all interested parties can participate in this significant occasion.
Attendees can register individually, in family groups, or through their local dioceses. The process is completely free, although personal information such as ID is required. Once registration is completed, participants enter a pre-registration phase until the process closes, at which point they will receive an official confirmation via email or SMS with details regarding their access to the selected events.
Among the scheduled activities, two events require prior registration: the youth vigil, which will take place on June 6 at 20:30 in Plaza de Lima, and the mass in Plaza de Cibeles, planned for June 7 at 10:00. It is important to note that the vigil is exclusively limited to young people.
Aside from these acts, other events such as the inter-diocesan meeting at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium do not require direct registration; tickets will be distributed through invitations managed by parishes and ecclesial organizations. The Archdiocese has emphasised that while there will be enough space for everyone, those who register will have priority and will be closer to the stage during the celebrations.
The system also includes specific measures for minors. Children under 14 do not need to provide an email or phone number, while those under 16 must have explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian if they are not included in the same registration.
Given the magnitude of the event and the expectations generated among the faithful, the Archdiocese is making an urgent call to all interested parties to complete their registration as soon as possible. “There will be room for everyone,” the organisation assures, “but those who are registered will enjoy a closer experience with the pope.” The Catholic community is ready to give a warm welcome to the religious leader during his visit to Madrid.
