A Journey to the Past in the Heart of Madrid

San Sebastián de los Reyes is preparing for a unique experience that will transport its visitors to the 15th century. From 24th to 26th April, the city will celebrate its Renaissance Market of the Foundation, an event that promises to immerse everyone in the rich history and culture of the Renaissance.

This market is not only a celebration of the past but also a space where fun and learning go hand in hand. For three days, the streets around the Plaza de Toros and the urban area will come alive with parades, live music, and theatrical performances. Attendees will be able to enjoy representations that recreate typical scenes from the era, bringing every corner to life.

One of the highlights of the event will be the opportunity to see artisans in action. There will be traditional craft workshops, where visitors can observe ancient techniques related to materials such as leather, wood, ceramics, and iron. These demonstrations are not only educational but also offer a fascinating window into how everyday objects were made centuries ago.

Not everything will be history; the market will feature numerous craft and gastronomy stalls. From local products to culinary delights typical of the Renaissance, there will be something to satisfy every palate. Additionally, participatory activities have been scheduled to engage both children and adults, ensuring that every family member finds something interesting.

Over the years, the Renaissance Market has grown to become one of the most anticipated events by both residents and tourists alike. The perfect combination of historical shows, interactive workshops, and a vibrant themed atmosphere makes it an ideal option for those seeking a different getaway over the weekend.

To facilitate attendance at the event, flexible hours have been established: On Friday 24th, it will open from 17:00 to 23:00; on Saturday 25th, it will be available between 11:00 and 14:00, reopening later from 17:00 to 23:00; while on Sunday 26th, it can be visited from 11:00 to 14:00, finally closing at 22:00.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to explore a fragment of the past without leaving the metropolitan area. The Renaissance Market not only celebrates the historical foundation of the municipality in 1492 but also reinforces its contemporary cultural identity.
