A New Horizon for Bullfighting
The Community of Madrid is preparing for an unprecedented event in the bullfighting world. Starting from 2nd May 2026, coinciding with the celebrations of Dos de Mayo, TLMadrid will be launched, a digital platform that promises to revolutionise the way fans enjoy bullfights. This new service, akin to a traditional Netflix, will include a channel dedicated exclusively to bullfighting.
TLMadrid will not only offer live broadcasts of events such as the iconic Feria de San Isidro, but it will also allow users to access bullfights for seven days after their airing. This feature aims to attract those who cannot enjoy the spectacle in real-time, thus providing a more accessible and flexible experience.
The bullfighting atmosphere in Madrid is more alive than ever. The ticket offices at Las Ventas are already showing signs of success with multiple “sold out” signs even before the official start of the season. The recent popularity has been backed by massive audiences on Canal Sur, demonstrating a resurgence of interest in bullfights among the Spanish public.
One of the key objectives behind the launch of TLMadrid is to normalise bullfighting information within the media landscape. The general director José Antonio Sánchez has emphasised the importance of integrating bullfighting content into news broadcasts, seeking to destigmatise this cultural tradition and give it the place it deserves within the informational panorama.
As the launch approaches, questions arise about how the anti-bullfighting public will react to this new initiative. However, with the growing support for bullfights and renewed interest from the younger audience, TLMadrid could mark a turning point for modern bullfighting. With a diversified and accessible offering, this platform has the potential not only to attract new fans but also to keep alive a tradition deeply rooted in Spanish culture.
