An essential support for Madrid taxpayers
The City Council of Madrid has announced the launch of an assistance service designed to facilitate citizens in submitting their income tax returns in the 2025 Income Tax Campaign. This year, support extends to both phone and in-person assistance, allowing taxpayers to access specialised advice for their tax procedures.
Those interested can request an appointment starting from 29 April for phone assistance. From 29 May, they will also be able to opt for in-person assistance. The deadline for both modalities will remain open until 29 June, thus providing a wide window for citizens to manage their tax obligations without setbacks.
In the previous campaign, the City Council assisted over 29,000 taxpayers, resulting in the preparation of approximately 21,874 returns. The majority opted for phone assistance, demonstrating the effectiveness and convenience of the service. Additionally, over 3,400 queries were resolved, highlighting the necessity and usefulness of the support offered.
This year, the City Council will also continue its commitment to the elderly, maintaining specific support for those over 65 years old. In 2024, more than 5,000 people from this age group used the service, representing a significant 17.3% of the total.
Aside from logistical support, important tax innovations have been introduced in this campaign. For instance, a new deduction will be implemented that could reach up to 340 euros, aimed at recipients of the minimum interprofessional wage and workers with annual incomes below 18,276 euros.
Not only are the new deductions relevant; several deductions related to improvements in energy efficiency and the acquisition of electric vehicles will remain in effect during 2025. There are also previous regional deductions linked to rental and municipalities at risk of depopulation available.
Through the official website or the corresponding mobile application, taxpayers can easily manage their appointments. This joint effort between the City Council and the State Agency for Tax Administration (AEAT) aims to simplify one of the most complex processes for many citizens: fulfilling their tax obligations.
