The City Council of Alcorcón presents a varied free programme for young people aged 12 to 35. With activities ranging from creative workshops to sports competitions, the aim is to encourage youth participation and leisure.

More than ten free activities will be available for the young people of Alcorcón during July, as announced by the Youth Department. This programme is designed to promote youth participation and offer recreational alternatives during the summer season. The activities are aimed at two age groups: teenagers aged 12 to 17, and young adults aged 18 to 35.

For the younger ones, jewellery-making workshops, plastic arts, as well as initiatives focused on the reuse and transformation of garments have been scheduled. These proposals aim not only to entertain but also to educate in practical skills that can be useful in their daily lives.

In addition to the creative workshops, teenagers will be able to participate in sports tournaments, including competitions in ping pong and table football. A water gymkhana will also be organised, ideal for combating the summer heat while promoting teamwork.

The new ‘Vibe Zone’ will be another attraction of the programme. This space will allow participants to enjoy board games like UNO or Monopoly, practice darts, and take part in various outdoor activities. Furthermore, young people will be encouraged to propose their own initiatives within the space.

For their part, young adults will have access to training activities that include classes on English conversation and Latin dances. A special workshop on summer cooking is also included, where they will learn to prepare fresh and simple recipes perfect for the warm weather.

Carmen Martín, the councillor responsible for the area, has highlighted that this programme is part of the City Council's commitment to maintaining a continuous offer throughout the year aimed at youth leisure and training. “It is essential that our young people have spaces where they can develop and interact,” said Martín.

Throughout last year, Alcorcón had already implemented several similar initiatives with great success; however, this is the first time such an extensive programme has been offered specifically for the summer. Compared to other nearby towns that have reduced their summer offerings due to budget cuts, Alcorcón is opting for an inclusive and active approach.

Those interested can formalise their registration directly at the municipal offices or through the official website of the City Council. The programme will begin next month and promises to be a unique opportunity to enjoy the summer while acquiring new skills.
