On May 25, Madrid will welcome Nômade Temple, a luxury hotel that promises to transform the experience of the modern traveller. Located on the iconic Gran Vía, this establishment aims not only to provide accommodation but also to create a space where guests can experience a genuine emotional and spiritual connection.
The firm behind this innovative project is the company of Antonio de la Rúa, known for his relationship with Shakira and his successful trajectory in the hotel sector. After managing resorts in paradise destinations like Tulum and Holbox, De la Rúa has decided to bring his unique vision to Europe, starting with Madrid and Ibiza.
Nômade Temple stands in a historic building constructed in 1917 by architect Cesáreo Iradier. Although significant renovations have been made to modernise the space, the new owners have preserved the essence of the old hotel. With only 93 rooms—a significant reduction from the previous 109—the aim is to offer a more personalised and exclusive experience.
Among the hotel’s most notable features is an expanded rooftop where visitors can enjoy Mediterranean tapas and exquisite cocktails. Additionally, the establishment will feature a secret speakeasy bar, designed to provide an immersive atmosphere with surround sound and carefully crafted cocktails.
Nômade Temple is not just a place to rest; it is a cultural hub that will foster creativity and local art. On its first floor will be Monopol, a creative laboratory that seeks to connect emerging artists with guests and visitors. This space will include morning yoga sessions accompanied by live music, thus creating a vibrant and inclusive community.
Wellness also plays a crucial role in this proposal. The hotel’s spa offers innovative treatments that combine physical and mental therapies, including hypnosis and studies on longevity. With facilities such as a hammam, sauna, and cold baths, Nômade Temple promises to be a refuge for those looking to disconnect from the urban hustle.
Culinary offerings will be another strong point of Nômade Temple. Its restaurant Guga will blend Uruguayan and Argentine flavours with Italian influences, providing an unparalleled dining experience. The idea is for each meal to be accompanied by live music, creating a dynamic atmosphere where interesting things are always happening.
As Nômade Temple prepares to open its doors, its founders have grand plans to expand their unique concept to other European cities. Miguel Isla, CEO of the company, emphasises that they do not seek to be the biggest but to create unique properties where every detail is carefully designed to foster authentic human connections.
