A unique collection for football lovers

With the arrival of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the Community of Madrid has decided to pay tribute to the rich history of international football. Under the slogan ‘And you, which line are you from?’, a collection of retro shirts has been presented that celebrates five World Cup winning teams, each representing a specific line of the Metro network.

Each shirt not only stands out for its attractive design but also for its connection to the iconic Madrid transport system. All pieces include the embroidered Metro FC crest, inspired by the iconic diamond dating back to 1921, along with the seven stars of the Community of Madrid. These stars alternate between red and yellow, symbolising the World Cup titles won by the teams being honoured.

The first shirt represents Argentina, corresponding to line 1. This design evokes Argentina's triumph in Mexico 1986 with its characteristic light blue and white stripes and a black touch at the neck. On the other hand, line 2 pays tribute to Spain, recalling their victory in South Africa 2010 with an intense red shirt adorned with blue details.

Next, line 3 celebrates Brazil, who conquered the World Cup title in the United States in 1994. The shirt features a vibrant design reminiscent of the team led by Romario. Line 5, for its part, refers to the German team that won in Rome 1990 against Argentina. Finally, line 10 is dedicated to France, recalling their victory in 1998 thanks to the decisive goals from Zidane and Emmanuel Petit.

Those interested in adding this unique collection to their wardrobe can purchase the shirts both at the official Metro online store and at physical points strategically located in key stations such as Ópera, Sol, and Plaza de Castilla. Each shirt is affordably priced at 54.95 euros.
