A tradition that lights up the neighbourhood
The district of Moratalaz is preparing to welcome Their Majesties the Three Kings in an event that promises to be unforgettable. The Three Kings Parade, scheduled for January 4, 2026, will begin at 17:30, filling the streets of the neighbourhood with joy, excitement, and, of course, sweets. This event, organised by the Municipal Board of the District, is a celebration eagerly awaited by thousands of families who wish to bid farewell to the Christmas festivities with a magical touch.
The royal procession will start its route from Calle del Corregidor Diego de Valderrábano, one of the most emblematic points in the neighbourhood. Along the way, attendees will be able to enjoy the passage of Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar as they travel along important roads such as Caminos de los Vinateros, Avenida de Moratalaz, and Calle Encomienda de Palacios. The arrival at this last point is expected around 20:30, at which time the Kings will be welcomed with applause and music.
Given the large number of people expected to attend the event, progressive traffic closures will be implemented starting from 17:00. The affected streets include those that are part of the route as well as adjacent roads. To facilitate preparations before the parade, restrictions will be enforced on Calle Diego de Valderrábano from 15:00.
Aside from vehicle traffic, there will also be modifications in municipal squares and nearby parking areas such as Marroquina and Cañada. Local authorities strongly recommend using public transport during this festive day. Several bus lines operated by EMT will have altered routes between 17:00 and 20:30; among them are lines 8, 20, 30, and 142.
As the afternoon of January 4 progresses, Moratalaz will become a vibrant stage where children and adults can enjoy together.
