OVO: A show that transforms the stage
The Cirque du Soleil dazzles Madrid once again with its latest production, OVO, which will be presented at the Movistar Arena from 19 to 22 March. This innovative proposal abandons the traditional circus tent to offer a unique experience in an indoor space, allowing for greater interaction and closeness with the audience.
With over 7 million spectators already captivated by OVO in its previous tours, this show promises to take attendees to a world where insects come to life. Mateo Amieva, a renowned Spanish actor who embodies the master of ceremonies Master Flipo, shares his excitement about being part of this production. In statements to Kilómetro Cero, Amieva highlights the cultural diversity of the cast: "We are a real colony of 100 people from 25 different countries". His character is described as an extravagant and mischievous beetle that acts as a thread connecting the various stories unfolding on stage.
Through his performance, Amieva aims to convey deep messages about acceptance, love, and friendship. According to him, "OVO is more than acrobatics; it is a story that emotionally connects with everyone". One of the highlights of OVO is its vibrant soundtrack. Unlike other Cirque du Soleil productions that often opt for atmospheric melodies, this time contagious rhythms have been chosen. The music is performed entirely live using traditional Brazilian instruments.
