A footballer with an unexpected future
Carlos Pellicer Vázquez, born on May 15, 1944, in La Coruña, is a name that resonates in the world of Spanish football, but his story goes beyond goals and victories. Known for his time with teams like Deportivo La Coruña and FC Barcelona, Pellicer made a surprising decision that would change the course of his life: leaving professional football to dedicate himself to medicine.
Pellicer began his football career in the youth categories of Liceo Monelos, where he quickly stood out for his skill and technique. While helping his father with electrical work, he devoured medical journals and prepared for a new professional stage.
Shortly after finishing his medical studies, Pellicer became an internist at the Social Security Residence in La Coruña.
