The Cerro del Telégrafo sports complex will reopen on August 14 after an investment of 273,000 euros. The improvements aim to optimise safety and conditions for local athletes.

The athletics stadium at the Cerro del Telégrafo municipal sports complex in Rivas Vaciamadrid will resume its activities on August 14, following a comprehensive renovation that includes a new artificial pitch and safety enhancements. The project, which required an investment of 273,000 euros, was carried out during the summer months, taking advantage of the period with lower sports activity.

The works began on June 1 and were coordinated with local clubs, such as the Club Deportivo Elemental Atlético Rivas Rugby and Osos de Rivas, who regularly use these facilities. This collaborative approach allowed for minimising disruptions to their training and competitions.

The renovation included not only the replacement of the artificial turf on the main field but also the area known as the semi-moon, the finishing straight, and the perimeter access. The new surface is designed to accommodate multiple sports disciplines, including rugby, American football, football 11, and football 7.

In addition to the pitch, significant structural improvements were made. The elastic base under the old turf was repaired, all sprinklers were replaced, and the cistern was cleaned to ensure adequate irrigation. The goals, along with their protective elements, will also be replaced to enhance the overall functionality and safety of the space.

This project is part of a broader effort by the City Council to modernise municipal sports facilities in Rivas Vaciamadrid. In previous years, significant investments had already been made in other local sports spaces, reflecting a continued commitment to promoting sports among citizens.

As the reopening date approaches, local clubs are excited to return to a renovated space that meets modern standards for both training and competition. The improvement will benefit not only established teams but also young talents looking to develop in various sports disciplines.

Interested users can head to the Cerro del Telégrafo sports complex starting August 14, where they can enjoy improved facilities that promise to offer a safe sporting experience tailored to their needs.
