The political party Más Madrid has requested the appearance of senior officials to clarify the controversial purchase of a penthouse in Chamberí. The operation has raised doubts about its legality and transparency.

Más Madrid has intensified its pressure on the regional Government by requesting the appearance of the CEO of Planifica Madrid, Pedro Corbalán, and the Minister of Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín. This demand arises following the acquisition of a penthouse in Chamberí for a total of 6.3 million euros, a transaction that has sparked controversy among Madrid citizens.

The party's spokesperson, Manuela Bergerot, has stated that this initiative aims to clarify the circumstances surrounding the purchase of the property and who is responsible for this decision. According to Bergerot, the silence and contradictions emanating from the Government have led Más Madrid to act with a parliamentary offensive to obtain clear answers.

“It is essential to scrutinise all activities of Planifica Madrid,” Bergerot stated to the media. The spokesperson also questioned how the decision to sell the penthouse was made just 48 hours after it was acquired. “We want to know who is behind this operation and why such a hasty decision was made,” she added.

In the view of the political group, this transaction is not only questionable from an ethical standpoint but could also represent a financial loss for public coffers. In this regard, they have requested that the Court of Accounts conduct a thorough audit of all activities related to Planifica Madrid.

Bergerot did not hesitate to describe the current situation as “shameless”: “If we had not uncovered this scandalous purchase, Isabel Díaz Ayuso would already be living in a penthouse paid for by all Madrid residents.” Criticism towards Ayuso intensified when her recent trip to Mexico without a clear public agenda for ten days was mentioned. Más Madrid demands to know who financed that trip and if there are any irregularities involved.

As the political debate surrounding the penthouse and other issues related to Ayuso progresses, Más Madrid has announced its intention to file legal actions for what they consider a possible crime of embezzlement. “We cannot allow public funds to be used to satisfy personal interests,” emphasized Bergerot.

The political climate in the Community remains tense as Más Madrid continues to push for clear answers regarding these financial operations. Citizens are increasingly attentive to how their public resources are managed and demand greater transparency in governmental decisions.

As this situation unfolds, it is clear that the political future of both the regional Government and the party itself will largely depend on how they respond to these accusations and citizen demands.
