A new chapter in the history of Real Madrid
The atmosphere surrounding the presidency of Real Madrid is heating up with the imminent presentations of the candidacies. On one side, Enrique Riquelme, a young entrepreneur who has been the subject of both criticism and praise, presents his project under the epithet of ‘transformative’. On the other side, the current president Florentino Pérez, who has decided to continue his legacy with the campaign titled Much history to make.
Despite the initial enthusiasm generated by Riquelme, sports analysts have quickly expressed their doubts about his ability to compete with Pérez's established management. The panellists of the programme openly criticised this disrespect towards such a serious situation as referee corruption in Spanish football.
Apart from the electoral context, the exciting clash taking place in the final of the Conference League was also addressed, where Rayo Vallecano will face Crystal Palace. The Rayo coach, Íñigo Pérez, expressed his deep emotional connection with the fans who have queued for long hours to secure tickets for this historic event.
Sergio Fernández highlighted the significant differences between both teams on an individual level; however, some analysts firmly believe that if Rayo manages to control the game and maintain possession of the ball, they could surprise a rival with highly valued players like Jean-Philippe Mateta or Jørgen Strand Larsen.
