A new era in the training of healthcare professionals

The Community of Madrid has taken a significant step towards modernising the training of its healthcare professionals by launching a digital platform that promises to unify and optimise all educational processes. This tool, designed to integrate students, residents, and staff in continuous training, aims to centralise the training itinerary in a single accessible environment.

According to Miguel López-Valverde, Minister of Digitalisation, this initiative not only simplifies the administrative management related to training but also focuses on homogenising educational processes within the Madrid healthcare system. The platform will allow for the organisation of rotations and the evaluation of different teaching periods, ensuring that all centres follow standardised criteria.

The new system will cover the entire training cycle: from planning and disseminating activities to monitoring and certifying participants. This means that each professional will be able to access their complete training history from a single point, thus facilitating their professional development.

It is not just about managing courses; the platform will also provide access to updated materials on specific pathologies and new surgical techniques. Additionally, collaborative digital spaces will be created, where professionals can exchange knowledge and experiences, thereby enriching collective learning.

Starting next summer, the gradual implementation of this tool will begin. The aim is to efficiently connect Primary Care centres with reference hospitals, prioritising those responsible for training new residents who will enter in June. This approach will ensure a smooth transition to the full use of the system.

Among the most innovative features is the use of augmented reality to help new professionals familiarise themselves with the facilities from their arrival. This technology will not only facilitate their adaptation to the new work environment but will also enrich their educational experience.
