A new Lebanese corner in the city

The recent launch of Em Sharif, a Lebanese restaurant located at Alcalá, 54, has captured the attention of food lovers. This establishment, just a stone's throw from the Town Hall, promises to take its diners on an authentic culinary journey through Lebanon. Chef Yasmina Hayek, trained in France and experienced in other successful culinary projects, is the mastermind behind this new concept.

From the moment one enters Em Sharif, a cosmopolitan atmosphere is felt, reflecting the elegant exile of various cultures. The restaurant attracts not only fans of Lebanese cuisine but also those seeking a deeper experience related to the stories and traditions of Lebanon. Diners enjoy an environment where the tales of Persians and Lebanese, who have had to leave their homes due to conflicts, intertwine.

The menu offers an impressive variety of traditional dishes. Among them, the tabbouleh stands out, a classic that has been carefully prepared to highlight its freshness. Options like baba ganoush, made without the need for grilling, allowing for that characteristic smoky flavour, can also be found.

Accompanied by Lebanese wines and local beers, visitors can enjoy bread with zaatar or sandwiches filled with cheese and meat. The minced beef skewers known as kefta, along with the exquisite kharouf, a slow-cooked lamb shank that reaches a melt-in-the-mouth texture, are just some of the delights available to share.

There is no better way to culminate this culinary experience than with one of the unique desserts offered. Although there was some confusion when ordering a traditional ice cream called ashta w ghazleh, this delicacy turned out to be a wise choice: ice cream made with gum arabic accompanied by Lebanese cotton candy. All this for a reasonable price: approximately 40 euros per person.

As Em Sharif gains popularity among locals and tourists alike, it is quickly becoming a key spot for those wishing to explore new culinary experiences while supporting the rich Lebanese culture. With its focus on fresh ingredients and authentic recipes, this restaurant not only satisfies discerning palates but also curious hearts.
