José Luis Martínez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid, has expressed his confidence that the Popular Party will remain at the helm of the City Council "at least until 2030 and beyond." This statement was made during an event in Santiago de Compostela, where the PP candidates for the municipal elections in May 2027 were presented. Almeida, who took office in June 2019, assured that he has "more enthusiasm and more desire" than when he began his term.
In his statements, Almeida emphasized that there is no other city with a greater life expectancy than Madrid. Since 1991, the PP has governed the Spanish capital, and the mayor is determined to maintain that trajectory. "We have a project for Madrid and because we want to do it," he asserted firmly.
