This Saturday, Madrid faces a significant rise in heat, with temperatures that could reach up to 37 degrees in several localities. The day will start with relatively mild temperatures, but it is expected that during the central hours of the day, the thermometer will rise drastically, particularly affecting municipalities such as Aranjuez, Alcalá de Henares, and Rivas-Vaciamadrid. In the capital, the maximum temperature will reach 35 degrees, in a dry atmosphere with light winds coming from the west and northwest.
The skies will remain clear for much of the day, although some high clouds may appear in the afternoon without bringing precipitation. This warm weather is part of a broader trend observed in recent years, where heatwaves have become increasingly frequent. According to historical data, the summer of 2023 also recorded similar temperatures, prompting authorities to remain alert to potential public health risks.
As the day progresses, the weather conditions will vary slightly. For example, in Alcalá de Henares, a minimum of 20 ºC and a maximum of 37 ºC are expected, while in Alcorcón, temperatures will range between 19 ºC and 35 ºC. The thermal sensation will be similar to the actual temperature due to the low average relative humidity of the day, which will hover around 27 %.
Despite the extreme heat, many Madrileños will take advantage of the good weather to go out and enjoy the outdoors. However, it is essential to take precautions against the risk of dehydration or heat strokes. Authorities recommend staying hydrated and avoiding intense physical activities during the hottest hours.
As the afternoon approaches, some municipalities such as Getafe and Leganés will also experience maximums close to 36 degrees. Sunset is scheduled for around 21:41 h, at which point a slight decrease in temperatures is expected.
