The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, expressed her discontent with the current situation of the PSOE during a visit to the Riosquillo reservoir in Buitrago del Lozoya. In a context marked by judicial scandals affecting both Ferraz and the Government of Pedro Sánchez, Ayuso described the socialist party as "kidnapped" and lacking internal debate. The criticism comes after the PSOE's Federal Committee, where she noted that the president seemed oblivious to internal concerns and continued to laugh at the situation.
"Yesterday I saw the president laughing at the situation and at everyone," Ayuso stated.
The Madrid leader emphasised that despite dissenting voices within the party, Sánchez has chosen to ignore demands and maintain an authoritarian style that could lead to greater political disintegration in Spain. This tense climate has led several members of the Popular Party and other governmental partners to demand an electoral advance due to what they consider a significant loss of confidence in Moncloa. During her speech, Ayuso also addressed international issues, expressing concern over the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela following recent earthquakes. "We are appalled and will continue to monitor their situation minute by minute," she commented on the natural disaster that has severely affected the South American country. The president assured that the Community is willing to collaborate with the central Government to provide necessary aid in this emergency. As calls for early elections intensify, it remains to be seen how Sánchez will respond to this growing pressure both from within and outside the PSOE.
