A charity match on June 28 will bring together legends from Real Madrid and veterans from Avenida 50. The funds raised will go towards an exoskeleton for students at Miguel de Unamuno.
Next Sunday, June 28, the Paco Sedano pavilion in Móstoles will host an exciting charity match featuring a team of basketball legends from Real Madrid against veterans from the Avenida 50 club. This event aims to raise funds for the ‘Walking Towards the Future’ project, an initiative driven by the Miguel de Unamuno Public Special Education Centre, which seeks to finance the acquisition of a paediatric exoskeleton intended to improve the quality of life and rehabilitation of its students.
The event is organised by the Peña Madridista Ángel, the Mostoleña Association of Basketball Friends (AMABAL), and the Basketball Association in Móstoles (ABM), with the support of the local council through its Department of Sports and Health. The event will kick off at 12:00 hours, but from 9:30 hours, there will be a free throw competition for children aged 8 to 13, with an expected participation of around 200 minors. This activity will add a playful element to the charitable event.
Although entry to the match is free, attendees will have the option to make a symbolic donation of two euros, which will allow them to participate in a raffle with attractive prizes, including a shirt signed by Real Madrid players. Solidarity tickets will be available at the Taberna Gobana, located at Ciudad Dolores Hidalgo street number 20.
The ‘Walking Towards the Future’ project aims to acquire a paediatric exoskeleton that will provide stability during therapeutic sessions for children with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. This device not only facilitates walking but also allows for eye contact and frees the hands for other therapeutic activities, thus promoting comprehensive rehabilitation.
This is not the first charitable action related to this purpose; previously, a charity festival organised by Móstoles Dancing Deluxe brought together over 850 dancers. The community has shown its ongoing commitment to causes that benefit the most vulnerable.
The organisers expect a large turnout for the event, not only due to the sporting appeal of watching legendary figures from Spanish basketball play but also because of the positive impact each donation will have on the lives of the benefiting children.
