A call for justice
The political situation in Móstoles has been shaken by a serious accusation involving the mayor, Manuel Bautista, from the Popular Party. The Prosecutor's Office has formally requested the judge to initiate legal proceedings related to a complaint filed by a former councillor, who alleges sexual and workplace harassment by the mayor.
This case dates back to February, when the former councillor filed her complaint in the courts of Móstoles. In her statement, the complainant not only mentions sexual and workplace harassment but also other serious crimes such as coercion, injury, and disclosure of secrets. Although the complaint has already been registered, no procedural measures have been taken so far to advance the investigation.
The document sent to the Section of Violence against Women highlights the concern of the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the time elapsed without significant progress. The Prosecutor's Office has urged that an order for initiation be issued and preliminary proceedings be started to clarify the reported facts. This call aims to ensure that the allegations are treated with the seriousness they deserve.
Despite the accusations against him, Manuel Bautista has expressed his confidence in the judicial system and has warned of possible legal actions against those who disseminate information he considers false or harmful to his honour. The City Council has indicated that there are currently no procedural updates regarding this complaint.
