The City Council of Pinto will distribute noise-cancelling headphones from August 3 to 7 to facilitate the inclusion of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder during the Patron Festivities. This initiative aims for everyone to enjoy without auditory discomfort.
The Patron Festivities in honour of the Virgin of the Assumption will be celebrated in Pinto from August 8 to 15, and the City Council has decided to implement an inclusive measure that will benefit people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and auditory sensitivity. For the third consecutive year, noise-cancelling headphones will be distributed to help those suffering from auditory hypersensitivity enjoy the festive events without discomfort. The Councillor for Festivities, Víctor Alonso, highlighted the importance of this initiative:
“Once again this year we are promoting this measure in favour of the inclusion of people with disabilities. At the City Council of Pinto, we are aware of this and will continue to implement all initiatives that contribute to it.”
The distribution of the headphones will take place between August 3 and 7, in the morning, at the City Council's facilities. To access this service, interested parties must present a certificate that verifies their condition, whether due to ASD or auditory sensitivity. It is worth mentioning that those who received a device the previous year will not be able to request a new one and must reuse the one they already have. This action is part of the council's commitment to ensure that all residents can actively participate in the festivities without being harmed by the noise generated by street parties and concerts. In previous years, the response has been positive, with an increasing number of requests each time; this reflects a greater awareness of the need to include all people in community activities. The initiative not only seeks to provide comfort but also to foster an environment where everyone feels welcome and can fully enjoy. The headphones are the same model used in previous editions, which ensures their proven effectiveness among users.
