A Revolution in Madrid Tourism

The Community of Madrid has taken a significant step towards modernising tourism with the launch of an innovative feature on its VisitMadrid platform. This tool, integrated into the Cuenta Digital app, promises to transform how both residents and visitors explore the capital and its surroundings. Since its debut in January 2025, VisitMadrid has been designed to offer personalised itineraries that adapt to the interests and needs of each user.

One of the standout features of this new functionality is its ability to generate custom routes. Users can select itineraries based on their preferences, whether they are looking for outdoor activities, gastronomic experiences, or cultural events. The platform not only facilitates access to tourist information but also allows users to discover hidden gems within the region.

Among the included proposals are tours of the Sierra de Guadarrama, visits to the historic Monastery of Santa María la Real de Valdeiglesias, and strolls through the charming Castañar de Rozas de Puerto Real. Additionally, users can explore the so-called Villas of Madrid or enjoy new urban terraces, thus expanding their experience beyond typical tourist spots.

The integration with Cuenta Digital allows access to this content directly from mobile devices, which is crucial given that over 60% of traffic comes from smartphones. This accessibility ensures that users can consult routes and highlighted events on the go, facilitating dynamic planning during their stay.

Over the past year, VisitMadrid has recorded more than 650,000 visits, with an additional million related queries. The majority comes from the Spanish public (48.3%), followed by American tourists (14.4%) and British visitors (6.3%). These figures reflect the growing interest in experiencing Madrid from a more personalised perspective.

It is not just about enhancing the tourist experience; this tool also has a positive impact on the local economy. By highlighting lesser-known municipalities and promoting local commerce, VisitMadrid helps diversify the options available for both visitors and residents alike.

As 2025 progresses, VisitMadrid is positioning itself as an essential resource within the Madrid tourism ecosystem. With nearly 10 million accesses to over 220 services available on Cuenta Digital, this platform is set to become an indispensable ally for those looking to explore Madrid as well as for those interested in conducting electronic administrative tasks.
