A journey through time into Cervantes' culture

This Saturday, literature and history lovers will be able to enjoy a unique experience with the return of the Cervantes Train, which promises to take its passengers on an unforgettable journey through the Alcalá de Henares of the Golden Age. This initiative, which has become a classic of Madrid's cultural tourism, offers not only a train ride but also a theatrical immersion into the universe of Spain's most emblematic author.

The journey begins at Madrid-Atocha at 10:36 AM, where travellers will board a special train with no stops. During the journey, actors dressed as characters from Don Quixote will entertain passengers, immersing them in the adventures and misadventures of the famous knight and his loyal squire. Upon arrival in Alcalá, the experience continues with a guided tour of the most emblematic sites related to Miguel de Cervantes.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore significant places such as the church where Cervantes was baptised, as well as Calle Mayor and Plaza de Cervantes. Other historical sites include the Colegio Mayor de San Ildefonso and the Magistral Cathedral. Additionally, cultural spaces such as the Archbishop's Palace and the Regional Archaeological Museum will be visited, all steeped in Cervantes' legacy.

The Cervantes Train season will run until 27 June, with departures scheduled every Saturday. Tickets are available at an affordable price of 22 euros, offering reduced rates for children and free access for those under 6 years old. This effort to make culture accessible is a fundamental part of the appeal that has kept the train a popular option among families and tourists.

Launched for the first time in 1997, the Cervantes Train has attracted tens of thousands of travellers each year. Its success lies not only in its innovative cultural proposal but also in its ability to adapt to current public demands. With each edition, this journey further consolidates itself as an essential cultural experience within Madrid's tourist landscape.
