The Social Welfare Department of Fuenlabrada is launching a series of outdoor workshops for parents with teenage children. The sessions aim to improve family communication and coexistence.
The School of Families and Adolescence of Fuenlabrada will begin this Wednesday with a new edition of free workshops aimed at parents with children aged between 12 and 18 years. The activities will take place in the Parque de la Paz, a space that offers an ideal environment to promote family interaction during the summer months. This programme, driven by the Social Welfare Department, has the main objective of providing tools that facilitate communication and improve family relationships during this crucial stage of development.
The sessions will be held every Wednesday in July, from 20:00 to 22:00 hours, with access via Reinosa Street. Each workshop will have small groups, composed of between 15 and 20 participants, allowing for a participative and close methodology. During these sessions, relevant topics such as effective communication within the family, friendships and social relationships, as well as strategies to motivate teenagers will be addressed.
The councillor for Social Welfare, Raúl Hernández, highlighted that a social educator will be in charge of guiding these workshops. “For two hours, guidelines and strategies will be offered that will improve not only communication but also family coexistence,” Hernández explained. This approach seeks to promote positive parenting that benefits both parents and children.
The programme is part of the municipal project ‘PISA’, specifically designed to support adolescents and their families through activities related to leisure, training, and socio-educational support. According to data from the City Council, more than 350 families participate in these initiatives each year, reflecting their relevance and impact on the community.
Those interested in participating can register by sending an email to pisa@ayto-fuenlabrada.es or contacting via WhatsApp at the number 689124865. This is a valuable opportunity to strengthen family bonds during a period when many young people face significant challenges related to their personal development.
As summer progresses, these outdoor activities not only offer training but also a recreational space where families can enjoy together while learning about important topics for their daily coexistence.
