An unprecedented achievement in the PAU
On a day that promised to be like any other, Valeria Fragola, an 18-year-old student from Boadilla del Monte, became the centre of attention by achieving the highest score in the University Entrance Exam (PAU) in the Community of Madrid. With an impressive 13.99 out of 14, Valeria has not only exceeded expectations but has also made history in her region.
The news arrived while Valeria was enjoying a sunny day in the park, surrounded by her friends. The festive atmosphere became even more electrifying as they began to read her results. Amid laughter and shouts of surprise, the moment was captured in a video that quickly went viral on social media. “How amazing,” her friends repeated as Valeria absorbed the magnitude of her achievement.
Throughout her academic journey, Valeria has demonstrated exceptional dedication. From her beginnings at Colegio Mirabal International School, where she started studying at the age of three, to her recent completion of the Baccalaureate in Science and Technology with a biosanitary profile. Her passion for the human body and sciences has led her to decide to study Medicine at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.
The key to Valeria's success has been her methodical approach to her studies. She asserts that keeping up with the subjects was crucial to avoid the stress that accumulates before exams. “It’s easy to let things pile up, but I prefer to keep everything up to date,” she explains with surprising maturity for her age.
Despite the joy of her personal achievement, Valeria has also expressed concerns about the differences between exams in different autonomous communities. She finds it incomprehensible that students with similar aspirations face unequal evaluations: “It’s strange that Spain cannot coordinate to have a single exam.”
Nevertheless, these days are filled with celebration for Valeria and those around her. Her friends and family are as excited as she is about this academic milestone. To celebrate properly, she plans to take a trip around Europe with her friends through the Interrail programme. However, first, she will take some time to relax and enjoy simple moments like going out for ice cream.
