A culinary journey through the Spanish capital

The City Council of Madrid has launched an innovative tool for food lovers: the interactive map Todo Madrid para comérselo. This culinary guide, recently presented, offers a selection of 15 establishments that stand out for their gastronomic richness and invite both locals and tourists to explore beyond the city centre.

The initiative, driven in collaboration with the Madrilenian Academy of Gastronomy, aims to promote the decentralisation of the tourist offer, aligning with the objectives of the Madrid Strategic Tourism Plan 2024-2027. The delegated councillor for Tourism, Almudena Maíllo, emphasised that this proposal not only highlights Madrid's culinary diversity but also reflects a commitment to traditions and innovations in the gastronomic field.

The map offers a route from the north to the south of Madrid, combining traditional and contemporary options. Users will be able to find everything from restaurants and taverns to eateries and stalls in markets. Each stop includes detailed descriptions of the venue, its specialities, and a QR code that provides access to additional information.

Among the recommendations are iconic places such as Gozar Neotaberna Castiza, which offers a modern reinterpretation of traditional recipes, as well as Barrera (Chamberí), a unique personal project. There is also room for international restaurants like Pollo y Carbón (Fuencarral-El Pardo), where fresh produce takes centre stage.

Todo Madrid para comérselo, available in Spanish and English, can be downloaded from the official portal esMADRID.com or from the website of the Madrilenian Academy of Gastronomy. This project is part of a broader series that began with the first illustrated map of vermouth bars in Madrid and will continue with new releases focused on different culinary aspects.

In addition to the new interactive map, other initiatives have been launched such as the books Madrid Gastro. The new movement, Madrid Cocktail. Liquid memory of the capital, and monthly informational campaigns under the slogan Cómete Madrid. These actions aim not only to promote Madrid's gastronomic excellence but also to attract more visitors interested in enjoying the best this vibrant city has to offer.
