The lake in Juan Carlos I Park in Pinto has been rehabilitated following an investment of 256,562 euros. The modernisation aims to improve water quality and the natural environment for residents.
The lake in Juan Carlos I Park in Pinto has been reborn following the completion of its comprehensive rehabilitation, a project that required an investment of256,562.47 euros. This intervention, carried out by the municipal company Aserpinto, has the main objective of improving water quality and ensuring the proper hydraulic functioning of the public space. The work includes an innovative active bioremediation system, which uses microbubbles to oxygenate the water without resorting to chemical products. The City Council has highlighted that this solution is sustainable and favours the biological balance of the lake, representing a significant advance in the conservation of this natural space highly valued by residents. In recent weeks, technical tests have been conducted to ensure the optimal functioning of the newly installed systems. The results have confirmed that the six aeration and recirculation motors operate correctly, as well as the five floating ornamental jets that now beautify the aquatic landscape.
The intervention was necessary due to previously detected problems, such as water stagnation and low dissolved oxygen levels, which had led to excessive algae proliferation. After evaluating various alternatives, this comprehensive system was chosen that not only improves water quality but also reduces maintenance needs and energy consumption.
Mayor Salomón Aguado expressed his satisfaction with the result: “With this action, we take another step in our commitment to recover and enhance one of the most cherished natural spaces by the residents of Pinto.” He also emphasised the importance of having modern and environmentally friendly solutions.
Apart from improving oxygenation and reducing stagnation, this rehabilitation is expected to help turn the lake into an attractive place for recreational and social activities among citizens. The project also aims to reinforce its value as a community meeting point.
Such initiatives are not new; a few years ago, similar projects were carried out in other urban parks where sustainable technologies were implemented to improve deteriorated public spaces. However, it is becoming increasingly common to see local administrations opting for innovative solutions to preserve their natural environments.
Residents can now enjoy the renovated lake and its surroundings, where illuminated systems have also been installed in the floating ornamental jets, further enhancing its aesthetics during nighttime hours.
