The City Council of Pinto has signed an agreement with CCOO and UGT to address improvements in the working conditions of municipal employees. This pact aims to address historical demands and optimise the personnel structure.
The City Council of Pinto has taken a significant step towards improving the working conditions of its municipal employees after signing an agreement with the unions CCOO and UGT. This pact, signed last Monday by Mayor Salomón Aguado and the Councillor for Human Resources, Juan Guillermo Padilla, establishes a framework to unlock several demands that have remained unanswered for years. Although immediate improvements will not be implemented, the agreement opens the door to negotiations that will take place in the coming months.
One of the most notable points of the agreement is the partial modification of the Relationship of Job Positions (RPT), a key document that defines the structure and functions of municipal staff. This modification will include the reclassification of administrative staff and the PIMER-Civil Protection team, as well as reinforcements in priority areas such as municipal nursery schools. In this regard, it had already been previously agreed with the unions to implement the figure of educational partner in these institutions.
Furthermore, the local government commits to opening a dialogue with the unions and political groups to advance the approval of a Job Valuation, another pending issue within the City Council. The urgent need from the council is to ensure greater flexibility in temporary employment pools, which will facilitate filling critical vacancies due to current difficulties in replacing positions or incorporating new workers when necessary.
The revision of the collective agreement is also on the table. The agreement includes starting discussions with all union sections to develop a consolidated text that contemplates a comprehensive review of the social aid regime available for municipal public employees. These measures are expected to be adapted to the current socioeconomic situation.
Another relevant aspect is the improvement of bereavement leave for direct family members. The proposal will allow for the suspension of vacations if they coincide with this type of leave, representing a significant humanitarian advance within the municipal work environment.
Salomón Aguado has described this agreement as "the first step" towards a real improvement in working conditions and has thanked CCOO and UGT for their willingness to engage in constructive dialogue. For his part, Juan Guillermo Padilla has stated that these measures will help optimise the internal organisation of the City Council and thus improve the public services offered to residents.
As negotiations progress, it will be crucial to observe how these commitments translate into concrete actions that benefit both the workers and the local community.
