Actress and presenter Elisa Mouliaá has returned to Madrid after a brief stay in Lisbon, where she evaded an arrest warrant. Her appearance before the judge focuses on allegations of defamation by Íñigo Errejón.

The actress made this decision to avoid the execution of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Zamarriego, who had summoned her to testify as a suspect in alleged defamation. At 10:30 on Monday, Mouliaá voluntarily appeared before the Plaza de Castilla Investigating Court, accompanied by her new lawyer, Francisco Melero. The case involving her arises after her complaint against Íñigo Errejón for sexual abuse and her subsequent tweets accusing him of manipulating witness statements.
During her statement, Mouliaá defended her position, asserting that she had no intention of evading justice and that she had provided all the required documentation to the court. "No one wants to be handcuffed for having posted two tweets," she commented on her decision to return to Spain by road. The actress also expressed her disagreement with the judicial measure, describing it as disproportionate and pointing out that she had not committed any serious crime.
Mouliaá explained that she cancelled a professional contract abroad and purchased tickets to return to Spain after learning of the judge's decision. In her statements, she insisted that she had adequately justified her work commitments outside the country and offered to testify via videoconference, an option rejected by the magistrate.
"It hasn't been something we voluntarily wanted to obstruct," Mouliaá stated upon leaving the court. During the questioning, she apologised to the judge if he felt offended by her previous absence and highlighted that she was always willing to cooperate with justice.
The controversy revolves around the messages posted on social media where she accused Errejón. Although she acknowledged that she may have misinterpreted a video related to one of the witnesses, she defended her right to express what she believed to be true at that moment: "I have stated that there was no malice. I thought it was all true."
Mouliaá also denounced what she considers a persecution of her and other women who report sexual assaults. Regarding this, she stated: "We are not in North Korea, and no victim deserves to be treated like an executioner." This situation has had significant professional repercussions for her; she has lost important contracts due to the legal controversies.
