A 44-year-old driver has lost his life after crashing his van into a truck on the M-45. This is the second serious accident of the day on this road, which has left another person injured.

A tragic accident has claimed the life of a 44-year-old man this Tuesday on the M-45, near San Fernando de Henares. The incident occurred around 14:20 hours, when the driver of a van collided into the rear of a truck, becoming trapped inside the vehicle. Despite the efforts made by emergency teams, the SUMMA 112 paramedics could only certify his death upon arrival at the scene. The Firefighters of the Community of Madrid had to intervene to extract the body from the vehicle after receiving authorization from the Civil Guard.

This accident is the second serious one recorded on the M-45 on the same day. Earlier, a truck overturned while merging onto this road from the A-3, leaving its driver with serious injuries. The Civil Guard has taken over the relevant investigations to clarify the circumstances surrounding both accidents.

The M-45 is a crucial route for traffic in Madrid and its surroundings, and these incidents highlight the dangers that can arise on roads with high vehicle density. According to historical data, such accidents are not uncommon; in 2022, over 1,500 serious accidents were recorded on similar roads throughout the country.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to avoid tragedies like this. The usual congestion and weather conditions can significantly increase the risk of collisions.

Medical services and law enforcement continue to work to ensure road safety and respond to any eventualities that may arise on these important urban arteries. For those travelling through this area, it is advised to pay attention to signs and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

Partial or total temporary closures may affect traffic for several hours while the relevant investigations are carried out and the accident debris is cleared. It is recommended to use alternative routes if possible until normal flow is fully restored.
