A 39-year-old motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries after colliding with a car on the M-45. This is the second serious incident in Leganés in just three days, raising concerns about road safety in the area.

On Wednesday afternoon, a 39-year-old woman was seriously injured when her motorcycle collided with a car on the M-45 road, within the municipality of Leganés. This accident comes just three days after a man lost his life after crashing into the toll booths on the R-5, which has raised alarm among residents and local authorities about the increasing danger of the roads. The incident occurred shortly before 15:00 hours, at the height of kilometer 3.400 on the M-45. Emergency services from Summa 112 quickly arrived at the scene to assist the driver, who had multiple traumatic injuries. After stabilising her, she was airlifted to Hospital 12 de octubre in Madrid, where she was admitted in serious condition. The Guardia Civil is investigating the circumstances surrounding this accident to determine responsibilities and possible causes. In the current context, where road accidents seem to be on the rise, it is crucial that effective measures are implemented to improve safety on these roads. Compared to the previous year, data indicates a 15% increase in serious accidents nationwide. Local authorities have begun discussing strategies to address this concerning trend and ensure greater protection for all road users. Meanwhile, residents are calling for increased surveillance and proper signage to prevent similar future incidents.
