The Intervention That Surprised Madrid
In a surprising operation, the Municipal Police of Madrid conducted an inspection at a store in the Centro district, where over 140 bladed weapons and 37 prohibited weapons were discovered. The store, located on Carnero Street, specialised in the sale of historical and military items but operated without the necessary licenses.
During the review of the establishment, officers found that the premises lacked any license or responsible declaration, leading to the issuance of reports for administrative violations. Furthermore, the establishment did not have complaint forms and did not display the identification code required by law.
Among the seized weapons were machetes, large knives, tactical knives, and daggers. These were stored for sale without the proper administrative authorisation. The 37 prohibited weapons were confiscated due to a suspected violation of the Weapons Regulation.
Municipal authorities have indicated that such inspections are part of an ongoing effort to control the sale and display of potentially dangerous items in commercial and tourist areas. The Municipal Police periodically intensifies these reviews to ensure public safety.
As the investigation progresses, those responsible for the establishment will need to prove that they have the necessary permits to continue operating. Meanwhile, the weapons will be held in custody until their legal situation is resolved.
