A fateful day in the Loeches industrial estate
This Friday, the Madrid town of Loeches was the scene of a tragic workplace accident that has shocked the community. A 60-year-old woman died after being crushed by a pallet weighing approximately 500 kilos, while she was assisting her colleagues in loading it onto a truck.
The events occurred around 14:30 hours, specifically on Bronce Street, where the industrial estate is located. Upon receiving the alert, emergency services, including medical personnel from Summa 112, quickly arrived at the scene to attend to the victim. Upon arrival, they found the woman with severe injuries including a severe traumatic brain injury and a thoracic injury.
Despite the efforts made by the medical team, which included cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for more than 45 minutes, it was not possible to save her life. Ultimately, the professionals confirmed her death at the accident site.
The Civil Guard has taken responsibility for investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Given that this is a possible workplace accident, the Labour Inspectorate is also expected to examine whether all relevant regulations and safety measures were being followed during the operations carried out in the industrial estate.
The incident has generated deep sadness among colleagues and family members, who remember the victim as a dedicated and committed worker. The local community is distraught over what happened and demands answers about how such a tragedy could occur in a work environment.
