A Historic Weekend for Madrid
The Spanish capital is gearing up to experience one of the most intense and crowded weekends in its recent history, thanks to Bad Bunny's residency at the Riyadh Air Metropolitan Stadium. This musical event, taking place from May 30 to June 15, coincides with the visit of Pope Leo XIV and the celebration of the Madrid Book Fair, promising to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors.
In light of this surge in activities, local authorities have implemented a special plan to ensure mobility. The Madrid Metro has announced a significant boost on Line 7, increasing its capacity by up to 150% during key days. This increase will be particularly noticeable from 6:00 PM, when thousands of attendees are expected to head to the stadium.
In addition to the increased service frequency, there will also be an additional deployment of staff at the stations closest to the venue, such as Metropolitano, Las Rosas, and Canillejas. These measures aim to facilitate access and enhance safety during the concerts.
Not only will transport be affected; Madrid's hospitality sector will also experience a significant boom. It is estimated that the concerts will generate between 14 and 28 million euros in bookings for bars and restaurants during this period. Areas like Malasaña, Chueca, and Atocha are seeing a notable increase in reservations, especially in establishments offering Mediterranean, Japanese, and Italian cuisine.
