From this Friday, users will be able to use Metro Line 9B again between Arganda del Rey and Rivas. The works carried out improve the infrastructure and safety of the route.
The service of Metro Line 9B in Madrid is operational again from this Friday, after a closure that lasted since July 25. This reopening is the result of intensive work on the railway infrastructure, aimed at increasing both the reliability and safety of the route between Arganda del Rey and Rivas Vaciamadrid. The Community of Madrid has confirmed that the works included a thorough renewal of the superstructure of the track and the expansion devices.
During the summer period, the regional government has taken the opportunity to carry out various works on different Metro lines, seeking to optimise the service just when the usual number of passengers decreases. Such interventions are common every August, allowing improvements to be made without significantly affecting users.
In addition to the restoration of service on Line 9B, other lines are also undergoing renovation. For example, works on Line 7 have temporarily suspended service between the stations Gregorio Marañón and Pitis until August 28. Likewise, on Line 6, works are being carried out in Moncloa that have closed the section between Argüelles and Ciudad Universitaria until September 2.
The Cuzco station, part of Line 10, is also being renovated and will remain closed until the end of August. However, these improvements aim not only to modernise the facilities; they also seek to make them more accessible for all users.
To mitigate the inconvenience caused by these temporary interruptions, special free bus services have been implemented to cover the routes affected by the works. This facilitates that travellers can continue their journeys without significant inconveniences.
With this reactivation of service on Line 9B and the ongoing improvements on other lines, it is expected that users will soon enjoy a more efficient and safe system. The community can be assured that these efforts are aimed at providing more reliable public transport tailored to their daily needs.
