Enrique Riquelme unveils his ambitious plan for Real Madrid at an event full of legends

At an event that brought together some of the most emblematic figures of Spanish football, Enrique Riquelme, candidate for the presidency of Real Madrid, publicly thanked legends such as Vicente del Bosque, Fernando Hierro, Raúl González, and Iker Casillas for their support. This event, held at the iconic La Alquería estate, marked a milestone in his electoral campaign and made it clear that he aims to surround himself with great names to lead the club towards a promising future.

Riquelme not only focused on the illustrious names backing him but also outlined his vision for the club. He confirmed that, if elected president, he would have Raúl as sporting director and Fernando Hierro at the helm of the youth academy. Additionally, Iker Casillas would play a crucial role within the club's corporate structure, while Vicente del Bosque would act as a presidential advisor.

Although he did not reveal who his candidate for coach would be, Riquelme assured that he is working hard to present a solid proposal before the elections. Regarding potential signings, he mentioned Rodri, currently at Manchester City, and suggested the return of youth product Nico Paz, who has shone with Como 1907.

One of the highlights was when Riquelme committed to acquiring the services of Norwegian forward Erling Haaland. To ensure this signing, he promised to cover 100% of the annual fee for the 100,000 Madrid members if he failed to secure the deal. However, this claim was quickly denied by Manchester City.

Apart from his sporting proposals, Riquelme emphasized the importance of the social area within his electoral programme. For over two weeks, he has travelled across Spain listening to members and supporters about their concerns and desires to improve the club. “It is essential to understand what our fans feel and what changes are necessary,” he stated.

Closing his speech with an emotional call to vote, Riquelme urged all members to actively participate in the elections scheduled for this Sunday: “It is crucial that everyone votes; after 20 years we have a historic opportunity.” With this statement, he concluded an event filled with hope and serious promises to revitalise Real Madrid.
