A clear message from the heart of the Bernabéu

The French forward Kylian Mbappé has raised alarms in the football world following a tough match for Real Madrid, which ended in a 2-0 victory over Real Oviedo. Despite the win, the fans at Santiago Bernabéu expressed their discontent by booing some players, including Mbappé himself, who decided to speak to the media to express his thoughts on his current situation in the team.

In his statements, Mbappé revealed that he was not a starter because Álvaro Arbeloa, the team's coach, considers him the fourth forward in the squad. “I’m fine, at 100%. I didn’t start because he told me I’m the fourth forward,” he commented. Despite this situation, he was understanding and respectful of the coach's decision: “I accept it and play the time I have. I was ready to start, but it’s his decision and I’m not angry,” he added.

Although Mbappé feels frustrated about not being among the starters, he also made it clear that he is willing to work hard to earn a place in the team. With a touch of humour, he mentioned: “I have to work to be better than Gonzalo, Brahim, and Mastantuono.” This attitude reflects his commitment to improving and contributing to the club's success.

He not only spoke about his individual role; he also analysed the team's trajectory so far. According to him, the first half of the season was promising: “I think we started well in La Liga and the Champions… but we lost it in the second half.” This loss has been painful for him and his teammates: “I feel we had a structure and idea of play and that was lost,” he lamented.

Despite the difficulties faced during this season, Kylian Mbappé remains optimistic about the future. He acknowledged that they must learn from the criticism received and come back stronger next season: “We must accept the criticism and return next year with ambition.” His determination is a reflection of the competitive spirit needed to succeed at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
