During a meeting of the Governing Council, Ayuso highlighted that the partial closure represents a significant blow to nearby towns that economically depend on ski-related tourism. "This is a situation caused by Pedro Sánchez's Government against the Community of Madrid and Castilla y León," she stated. Although operations on the Madrid side are guaranteed thanks to a new concession granted in 2024, there is a palpable fear about how this will affect the overall economic viability of the complex.
